This award is given to the district(s) which has shown the highest level of participation and programme quality at the national level.

North West Community Development Council (CDC) has cultivated a robust green culture within the District and will continue to encourage greater environmental ownership by inspiring more residents to embrace Green Living. Their programmes engage residents of all ages, from pre-schoolers to families, to increase environmental awareness and knowledge within the community.

Key initiatives:

• Budding Greenies @ North West – aims to educate pre-schoolers on environmental conservation through experiential learning which comprises a physical green learning corner and an activity book, ‘Go Green with Betty the Butterfly


• North West Sustainability Forum – targets youths and the community at large. A series of forums were organised to exchange ideas and network with like-minded individuals, learn from green changemakers/field experts, gain insights into the green sector and kickstart Ground-Up Initiatives with the North West GIRAFFE Fund


• Green Homes @ North West - rewards families with up to $300 in grocery vouchers for adopting eco-friendly practices such as purchasing energy efficient appliances, practising energy saving measures at home.
