CGS Awards

The CGS Awards recognise grassroots organisations for their efforts to achieve environmental goals in the areas of Public Hygiene and Cleanliness, and Energy Efficiency and Resource Conservation. 

The recipients of the CGS Awards were selected by an evaluation panel chaired by Dr Er Lee Bee Wah.

Clean & Green Singapore (CGS) Awards 2016

This Clean & Green Awards recognise the district, Grassroots Organisations and individuals that most effectively meets the challenges of achieving positive environmental and public health outcomes.

Best Community Achievement Awards

This award is given to the district, which best meets the challenges of achieving environmental and public hygiene and cleanliness outcomes successfully with strong support and commitment from its community, and can be held up as the role model in terms of its community commitment and involvement in this area.

North West District

CGS Recipients from North West District

In support of the North West’s District 10-Year Eco Plan, Green Living @ North West, the North West District has rolled out 80 environmental programmes, involving 117 partners, 8,875 volunteers, under its 5 pillars: CLEAN Everyday, Lead Everyone Against Dengue (LEAD), Fight Climate Change, CLEAN Toilet and Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

South West District

CGS Awards Recipients from South West District

The South West District rolled out more than 90 environmental programmes under its ECo Plan South West, towards building a community that is clean, green and healthy for all to live in. 

 

Best Community Commitment Award

This award is given to the district that has shown consistency and commitment in their community engagement and outreach efforts in attaining environmental and public hygiene and cleanliness outcomes.

Central Singapore District

CGS Awards Recipients from Central Singapore District

Under the Central Singapore Environmental Sustainability Plan, 2,207 eco-activities were organised with National Environment Agency (NEA) Central Regional Office, attracting 8,072 volunteers and 744,773 participants. Central Singapore CDC reaches out to over 1 million residents, in the four key communities (children, youth, adults and seniors) through developing district-level initiatives and creating sustainable programmes, involving partners in various sectors.

 

Best Constituency (Ownership)

Awards are given to the constituencies with the most effective empowerment of the community in 3P Partnership in achieving environmental and public health outcomes. 

Braddell Heights

Best Constituency - Braddell Heights

As passionate stewards of the environment, Grassroots Leaders in Braddell Heights have organised 368 events to champion environmental and public health causes.

Chua Chu Kang

Best Constituency - Chua Chu Kang

Chua Chu Kang (CCK) launched four constituency-wide flagship programmes to address environmental and public health issues. Over 4,900 volunteers have participated in the district-wide programmes. 

Jalan Kayu

Best Constituency - Jalan Kayu

Jalan Kayu Grassroots Organisations (GROs) are empowered to raise environmental awareness, where Grassroots Leaders (GRLs) promote environmentalism and green habits during their community events. These GRLs are equipped with knowledge and skills from the annual Central Singapore Environmental Regional Workshop and Dengue Prevention Volunteers Trainings.

Sengkang Central

Best Constituency - Seng Kang

Sengkang Central’s Grassroots Leaders are proactive in promoting environment efforts and are well supported by 9 Residents’ Committees and organisations in the district.

Woodlands

Best Constituency - Woodlands

Woodlands constituency is a strong environmental advocate and proactive in fostering green values among its residents.
