Tree Planting Ceremony

In keeping with Clean & Green Singapore tradition, DPM Heng Swee Keat, together with Mr Desmond Lee (Minister for National Development), Ms Grace Fu (Minister for Sustainability and the Environment) and Mr Desmond Choo (Mayor of North East District), symbolically planted a tree to kick start CGS 2020 at ITE College East. This year’s tree is the Magnolia champaca

They were joined by Dr Amy Khor (Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment) and Mr Desmond Tan (Minister of State, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment) who planted the Magnolia × alba, and Ms Low Yen Ling (Mayor of South West District) and Mr Alex Yam (Mayor of North West District) who planted the Gardenia carinata

In support of the One Million Trees Movement, ITE College East students also contributed to the greening of their campus as they planted trees known for their fragrant flowers, i.e. Cananga odorata, Gardenia tubifera, Magnolia champaca and Gardenia carinata
